What's expected of me as a sitter?Updated 6 months ago
Your primary role as a Sitters childcarer is to ensure the children in your care are safe, happy, and content.
This includes following parents' instructions and maintaining open communication throughout the booking.
Activities and routines:
For evening babysitter bookings, you'll be expected to help with bedtime routines for younger children, such as reading stories or playing quiet games.
For daytime childcare bookings, plan engaging activities to keep children entertained. This could include reading, drawing, crafting, board games, or other activities as directed by the parents.
You may also be asked to help with light meal preparation based on the parents' instructions. If any tasks involve using unfamiliar equipment (kitchen appliances) or preparing formula milk for babies, clear communication with the parents is essential to ensure you feel comfortable and confident.
Bringing age-appropriate activities and entertainment options (such as books, toys and games) will demonstrate your initiative and help you connect with the children.
